Frequently asked questions
What does the S$2,199 onboarding fee include?
You’ll receive a complete Story Angles Pack: a document that distils your background, your objectives, and your key projects into clear narratives we can pitch. It also covers the strategic groundwork — research, positioning, and a tailored journalist map for every angle.
How does the pay-per-feature work?
You pay the onboarding fee upfront. After that, you only pay when a feature actually publishes. Not when it’s promised. Not when a journalist expresses interest. Only when it goes live.
What will I pay for every published feature?
Email us for details. We don’t hide the price — we simply prefer to tailor it to your budget and the scope of coverage you’re aiming for.
How many earned-media features do you guarantee?
None. And no credible agency can. Earned media runs on two forces you cannot buy: timing and luck. Anyone guaranteeing placement is charging you for sponsored content or buying the coverage outright.
Are you affordable because you can’t guarantee coverage?
No. We’re affordable because we avoid bloated retainers and refuse to make founders pay for effort rather than outcomes. Our pricing reflects philosophy, not compromise.
What does the PR Sprint onboarding process look like?
You share three core projects or objectives.
We create three distinct story angles for each.
We write tailored pitches for all nine angles and send them to fifteen targeted journalists per angle — 135 newsroom opportunities.
We follow up two times across three weeks to ensure your story stays live in the editorial pipeline.
Why can’t you send the pitches to more media outlets?
Because spamming every journalist in the region is irresponsible and counterproductive. Precision beats volume. A targeted pitch respects a journalist’s beat, style, and editorial rhythm — and it increases your odds of a real reply.
Why is your price so cheap?
Because founders shouldn’t need a S$6,000–S$12,000 monthly retainer to be taken seriously by the media. SEGUES exists to make earned media financially sane.
How do you decide which angles will work?
Founders often assume what matters internally is what matters editorially. It rarely aligns. We draw from a decade of interviewing CEOs and understanding what cuts through newsroom filters — tension, relevance, novelty, and narrative clarity.
What types of stories don’t you pitch?
We avoid announcements with no tension (new feature updates, minor hires, vague launches), vanity milestones, and stories that read like ads. Journalists delete these instantly, and we won’t waste your angles.
Will you write the full feature for the journalist?
No. That compromises newsroom ethics. We pitch. They write. We respect the editorial process.
How long before I see results?
Some stories land within days. Others take weeks. Newsrooms run on cycles, priorities, and bandwidth. We manage expectations, pace outreach, and keep follow-ups disciplined.
Can I review or approve email pitches before they go out?
You can. Just note that over-sanitising a pitch kills its edge. Journalists respond to clarity and conviction, not corporate-safe language.
What if a journalist asks for an interview?
We guide you through it — preparation, talking points, angle alignment, and anything else needed to keep the story sharp.
Do you handle crisis comms, reactive statements, or last-minute press issues?Only if you engage us for it. This sprint focuses on proactive earned media, not crisis fire-fighting.
What happens if a journalist misrepresents something or gets a detail wrong?
We step in with a correction request that’s firm, factual, and newsroom-appropriate.
Can I choose which publications I want?
You can express preferences. We will evaluate editorial fit. Sometimes your dream publication fits perfectly; sometimes another one serves your story better.
Do you pitch internationally?
Our focus is Southeast Asia. International pitching is possible, depending on story fit, but not included by default.
What if I don’t have a “big story”?
You’d be surprised. Good angles come from structure, not hype. Most founders don’t have a “moment” — they have a point of view, and that’s what we build on.
Can I treat this like a one-off campaign?
Yes. This sprint is built precisely for that. You get defined scope, clear deliverables, no long-term lock-in.
Can we hire your services for Press Release distribution?
Yes you can. Visit this page for more information.
